How much time is it required to hit Seattle from Portland? A few times a year, I do the ride, so it’s a query which I always ask myself. The reply? I rode for around 3 hours. On a train, four and a half. On the flight for 45 minutes.

However, what if in 1899 we posed this question? I do not have the solution, but at least one day will take, and you can feed more of your animal.

Of course, vehicles were there back then, but they weren’t realistic. It wasn’t long term because it cost a lot.

The first model Ts rolled out of the production line in 1908 and immediately it became simpler to fly. It was difficult and there was no cost-effective way to create a quality automobile before Henry Ford developed the production line.

If most people were able to create cars for the wealthy and content to write off as Ford asked: “What would this cost if I broke it to its most essential materials and sought a cheaper way to bring it together?”

Where is the first position you transform when you don’t know how to do something? Okay, the Internet? Perhaps you’re reading some tutorials or watching YouTube videos. What has happened is that through going about the analogy, you have been defeated—you see how things are handled and how you can duplicate them, however you decide not.

Analogy is beneficial to think about, but it is just that—a shortcut.1 It doesn’t always help you grasp what you are attempting to do. You discover instead what another person has accomplished and it may include bugs, complications, and other shortcuts that potentially function but render the job too costly, complicated, time-consuming, etc.

Yet you discard current information and explore it yourself while you are speaking about first concepts. You ask everything you believe you know before you get to a “first principle”—an utter fact that nobody else needs to justify.

Do this again and again and you can hit the basic elements of the problem without any misconceptions or shortcuts which resulted in a simple solution.
